A Sunny Summer for Sites@Duke Pro

What's coming up this semester for Sites Pro

Over the summer, the Sites Pro team has been quietly plugging away at our Sunny release, and we're looking forward to sharing it all with you soon!

As mentioned in our last update, this special release will migrate our platform from the outdated Gatsby middleware framework to Next.js for better long-term performance, flexibility, and maintenance. This structural change will not affect end users, and it will bring stability and workflow improvements for site editors.

While our team has been heads-down on this technical heavy lifting, our usual feature development cadence has slowed. Thank you for understanding! We are still performing routine code updates as needed, but they are mostly focused on critical security updates and bug fixes.

The final conversion to Next.js will involve coordination with each of our customers, so your site owner will hear from us with more details as plans are finalized. Don't worry – we'll let you get through the start of school first! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need any website assistance.

In the meantime, enjoy these photos of OIT developer David Morrison's goldendoodle, Sunny. They're sure to brighten your day!
