Upcoming Release: Tuxy B
This action-packed release includes major changes to the WYSIWYG editor
Tuxifer Bruce Nibbler, or Tuxy B for short, is ready to claw his way into hearts and workflows alike!

Rescued by Cole Archer, web developer for Duke Web Services (and architect of several new and exciting Sites Pro features!), this dapper tuxedo cat overcame humble bottle-fed beginnings to become a legend in his own right. Whether he's sunbathing, chasing skinks, or charming even the most die-hard dog lovers, Tuxy B brings a purr-fect blend of joy, mischief, and feline finesse to everything he touches. And now, he’s bringing that same energy to the latest Sites Pro release!
WYSIWYG Editor Changes
One of Tuxy's most obvious changes will be a major update to the WYSIWYG ("what you see is what you get") editor on body and text fields. For the technically savyy, we are upgrading to CKEditor 5. While most formatting options and buttons will remain the same, there are two features in particular getting major facelifts:
1. Media display options
The process to insert a media item (image, audio, document, or video) into the WYSIWYG remains the same – but, once the media item is in there, the user interface to control different display options has changed .
When you click on the media item within the WYSIWYG editor, a secondary menu will appear with formatting options:
- To set the image size, select an option from the "Embedded" dropdown in the middle. (Please note that Embedded may soon be renamed to Default.)
- Icons on the left side allow you to add a caption, link, or customized alt text.
- Icons on the right side allow you to select alignment and whether to break or wrap text around the media item.

2. Tables
Adding or editing a table also looks a bit different after Tuxy. You will still click the table icon in the WYSIWYG menu first, and then select the desired dimensions – but, from there, you will use a table-specific menu within the editor to manage columns, rows, cells, headers, and caption (i.e., title).

Updated User Guide documentation is on the way, but let us know if you have any questions in the meantime: Get Sites@Duke Pro Help.
Features & Fixes
Playful Tuxy B is delivering a number of other updates as polished and priceless as the cat himself, including:

- The previously announced login requirement to access the Preview pane
- A new navigation menu that allows a standalone group of pages to have its own menu structure, completely independent from the Main Menu
- Support for Apple Podcasts, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- A built-in accessibility checker – like spell check, but for web accessibility guidelines
- The ability to add a second persistent button to the Action Menu
- A new field to add site users' names, so you no longer have to memorize your team's NetIDs
- An easy link from your content site directly to the User Guide
- The usual mix of Drupal updates, bug fixes, and usability enhancements
Also, we are hopeful that Tuxy B's infrastructure improvements will reverse the recent temporary extension of the content publishing delay – bringing us back to a maximum of 10 minutes for published changes to appear on your production site. Thank you for understanding while we addressed this!
Tuxy B updates are being rolled out seamlessly to all Sites@Duke Pro live, staging, and content/admin websites through July 2025. Details will be posted on this website and Microsoft Teams when Tuxy is complete. Tuxy B FTW!
